An Asia Pacific’s Leading IoT-Powered Micro-Mobility App

One of the most popular e-scooter rental mobile apps in Southeast Asia was developed and maintained by the PowerGate team. Leveraging expertise in IoT development, the team seamlessly integrated the mobile app with e-scooters, enabling real-time communication for features like scooter location tracking, battery status monitoring, and secure unlocking. Applying the Agile/Scrum methodology, weekly planning sessions, and reviews, with Jira as a planning tool, the MVP product was successfully built and launched in just 3 months. Following this, the entire system, including the website, mobile app, and IoT infrastructure, was scaled up and completed. The application has transformed how people travel by encouraging them to leave their automobiles and use e-scooters instead.

It has ushered in a new era of e-scooters that are not only enjoyable, easy to use, and reasonably priced but also eco-friendly, directly influencing the Singapore government to introduce new regulations for scooters.
