A Mobile App With Smart Meal Recommendation Engine For Dietary Needs

PowerGate helped our client to develop a smart data-driven meal recommendation engine that uses members’ food and cooking preferences to customize a weekly meal plan and grocery list for them.

To get started, members provide their dietary limitations, allergies, likes, and dislikes with regard to food. They then select from more than 30 different allergens and diets, as well as cooking methods and time until dinner, among other options. Based on users’ tastes, the recommendation engine will generate a weekly meal plan with a grocery shopping list and recipes for main dishes, sides, and desserts. Members pay a monthly fee and can earn discount credits by submitting their own recipes or by sharing their meal plans with friends on social media.
